Hadrian's Wall Walk - Recent Successes

On Friday, 20th May, two of our A-walkers (Jane Thompson and Lorraine Matthews) successfully completed the Hadrian's Wall Walk. They covered the 84 mile route over five days - walking in an easterly direction from Bowness-on-Solway to Wallsend. The pictures below show Jane and Lorraine arriving at Wallsend.

Previously, John Barchan and Colin Lambert also completed this walk. However, they did the route in the opposite direction - going west from Wallsend to Bowness-on-Solway. Anne McGovern and a group of friends have also completed the walk successfully.

In my opinion, the most picturesque part of the walk is the section that lies between Greenhead {NY 660 654} in the west and Chollerford {NY 918 706} in the east. This is undoubtedly the part of the walk that seems to have had most money invested in it - in terms of wall preservation and areas of interest to visit.
